About WVD-USA
The History of World Vitiligo Day (WVD)
Recognizing the vitiligo community, World Vitiligo Day was first celebrated in 2011 and has since become a global event with the purpose of raising awareness and recognition of the bullying, social neglect, psychological trauma, and disability of the millions of people affected by vitiligo. WVD in the USA
In 2016 vitiligo organizations across the U.S. met in Washington, D.C. for the first World Vitiligo Day – USA celebration of the event (see 2016 WVD-USA for more information).
Additional years included:
- 2017 in Detroit, MI
- 2018 in Worcester, MA
- 2019 in Houston, Texas.
